Jobe Bellingham registers first Borussia Dortmund assist in win over Copenhagen

Jobe Bellingham recorded his first goal involvement for Borussia Dortmund as Felix Nmecha’s brace inspired a 4–2 victory over Copenhagen in the Champions League, Sport360NG reports.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined from Sunderland for £27 million in the summer, has struggled for regular minutes in the Bundesliga, but made the most of his second consecutive European start by setting up Dortmund’s opener.

Midway through the first half, Bellingham slipped a clever pass into Nmecha’s path, and the German midfielder rifled a powerful effort beyond Dominik Kotarski from the edge of the box.

Copenhagen equalised in bizarre fashion when Gregor Kobel’s save from a corner rebounded off Ramy Bensebaini, then deflected off Waldemar Anton and into the net.

Bensebaini made amends just after the hour mark, calmly converting from the penalty spot after Serhou Guirassy was brought down in the area.

Nmecha restored Dortmund’s two-goal cushion with his second of the night, a 76th-minute strike that took a deflection and wrong-footed Kotarski.

Bellingham pressed for his first goal for the club, but it was substitute Fabio Silva, formerly of Wolves, who added a fourth late on.

Viktor Dadason’s close-range header provided a consolation for Copenhagen in the final minutes.

The result leaves Dortmund on seven points from three group-stage matches ahead of their trip to Manchester City on 5 November, while the Danish side remain winless following draws with Bayer Leverkusen and defeat to Qarabag.
