Mikel Arteta’s side were forced to remain alert defensively, with Declan Rice producing a crucial intervention to deny Giuliano Simeone in the first half. After the interval, Gabriel Magalhaes also made a decisive recovery challenge to prevent the visitors from levelling after Simeone had rounded David Raya.
