Genk Coach Dismisses Transfer Rumours Surrounding Arokodare

Genk manager Thorsten Fink has revealed that the club has not yet received any formal offers for Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare, despite growing speculation linking him with a summer exit.

Arokodare has reportedly attracted interest from several high-profile European clubs, including Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and VfB Stuttgart. There have also been whispers of a potential move to the English Premier League.

Speaking to TV Limburg as Genk resumed pre-season preparations for the 2025/26 season, Fink played down the ongoing transfer talk. “As long as nothing happens, it’s just rumours,” he stated.

Genk Set Transfer Benchmark Amid Exit Talks

Although Fink struck a calm tone, indications suggest that the club may be bracing for Arokodare’s departure. Sources indicate that there is already a mutual understanding between the striker and the club regarding a potential transfer—if the right offer materialises.

Genk are reportedly seeking a fee exceeding the €18 million they received from Southampton for Paul Onuachu in 2023, with the club believed to be valuing Arokodare at over €20 million.

Meanwhile, sporting director Dimitri De Condé is said to be actively working on squad reinforcements and managing potential outgoings. Genk have already added midfielder Daan Heymans to their ranks and are expected to make further moves in the transfer market should Arokodare leave in the coming weeks.
