FIFA auditors arrive Ghana to begin 2025 financial review of Ghana football association
FIFA has officially launched its 2025 Central Review of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), with independent auditors from EY Switzerland arriving in Accra to examine the association’s financial records, Sport360NG reports.
The audit forms part of FIFA’s routine oversight of its member associations and will focus on the GFA’s accounts for the 2025 financial year. The exercise is designed to assess financial governance, ensure transparency and confirm compliance with global football’s regulatory standards.
Officials of the Ghana FA are expected to work closely with the visiting auditors throughout the process. While such reviews are standard procedure, the presence of external examiners has sparked discussion within local football circles, given the wide-ranging scope typically associated with FIFA’s financial assessments.
The inspection comes amid continued scrutiny of governance structures across African football, with FIFA maintaining a strong emphasis on accountability and sound financial management within its member bodies.
More details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the review progresses.
