Juventus have completed the signing of Canadian international Jonathan David from Ligue 1 side Lille, the Italian club confirmed on Friday.

David, 24, has penned a five-year deal that will keep him in Turin until June 30, 2030. The move marks the first major signing under new general manager Damien Comolli, who joined the Serie A giants last month.

The prolific forward leaves Lille after a highly productive five-year stint, during which he scored 109 goals in 232 appearances across all competitions. His performances on the European stage last season further enhanced his reputation—netting the winner in a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid and scoring twice in a 3-1 triumph over Atletico Madrid.

Renowned for his consistency in front of goal, David has regularly featured among Ligue 1’s top scorers in recent campaigns, finishing fourth last season, second the year before, and third in the 2021–22 season.

A key figure in Lille’s title-winning campaign in 2021, David now joins a Juventus side looking to return to former glories. The Bianconeri have lifted only one trophy—the Coppa Italia in 2024—since 2021 and finished a distant fourth in Serie A last term.

The club, now managed by Igor Tudor following Thiago Motta’s dismissal in March, are reportedly targeting further reinforcements. Among their top targets is Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, whom David once succeeded at Lille. Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, with Napoli reportedly valuing him at €70 million ($82 million).

Juventus are also believed to be monitoring Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, as they aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
