AC Milan Open Talks With Victor Boniface Over Summer Move

AC Milan have initiated contact with Nigerian forward Victor Boniface as they explore a potential summer transfer, amid mounting speculation that the Bayer Leverkusen star could be on his way out of the Bundesliga champions, Sport360 Nigeria has gathered.

Boniface, 24, was a key figure for Leverkusen last season, netting 21 goals in all competitions despite dealing with injury setbacks. His performances have caught the eye of Milan, who are actively seeking to strengthen their attack ahead of the new Serie A campaign.

According to Italian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, early discussions have already taken place between Milan and the player’s representatives.

“The Nigerian striker is open to joining the Rossoneri, with talks already underway,” Tavolieri posted on X (formerly Twitter), adding that Leverkusen are open to a potential sale this summer.

Boniface left a strong impression on the Milan hierarchy after scoring the winning goal against them in a Champions League group stage fixture last October. The club has maintained interest in the striker ever since.

Despite injury concerns last term, Boniface is still considered a physically dominant and tactically flexible forward. His ability to function both as a classic No. 9 and in a supporting role has reportedly impressed Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri and technical director Igli Tare, who are prioritising a dynamic centre-forward in this transfer window.

Earlier linked with a €60m move to Saudi side Al Nassr in January, Boniface’s current market value is believed to be between €30m and €40m, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, potentially making a deal more feasible for Milan.

The same report notes that Patrick Schick is now favoured as the main striker at Leverkusen, which could clear the path for Boniface’s departure.

Boniface has steadily risen through European football, beginning his journey at Bodø/Glimt in Norway before spells at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium and ultimately joining Xabi Alonso’s title-winning Leverkusen side in Germany.
