Fulham weigh €24m permanent move for Chukwueze amid fitness concerns
Fulham have formally indicated their willingness to secure the permanent signing of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan for a reported fee of €24 million, Sport360NG reports.
According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Premier League side have communicated their intent to trigger a deal that would provide a financial boost for Milan, particularly as Chukwueze is not part of head coach Massimiliano Allegri’s long-term plans. However, negotiations between both clubs are still ongoing, with no final agreement reached.
Reports suggest the proposed fee would be a significant gain for the Rossoneri, given the winger’s limited role at the club. Despite this, discussions remain unresolved as both parties continue to assess the terms.
Chukwueze began to establish himself at Fulham in December, delivering a standout performance with two goals in a thrilling 5-4 defeat to Manchester City. The match, overseen by City manager Pep Guardiola, highlighted the Nigerian’s attacking threat despite the result.
Speaking earlier in the year, the 25-year-old admitted he struggled for consistent opportunities during his time in Serie A but has since found a more favourable environment in England. Since arriving on loan, the former Villarreal CF winger has contributed in the final third under manager Marco Silva, registering goals and assists despite not always starting regularly.
In 17 Premier League appearances, Chukwueze has scored three goals and provided four assists, underlining his growing influence within the squad.
Nevertheless, concerns over his fitness persist. The winger has missed five matches across all competitions due to calf-related issues and has started only seven league games so far—factors Fulham are expected to carefully evaluate before committing to a permanent transfer.
Chukwueze remains tied to AC Milan on a long-term contract running until the end of the 2027–28 season.
