Fulham move to seal permanent deal for Chukwueze after impressive loan spell

Fulham are preparing to complete the permanent signing of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan in a deal worth up to €28m, according to reports in Italy, Sport360NG reports. 

The Premier League side have informed the Serie A club of their intention to activate the purchase option included in the loan agreement, following the Nigerian’s resurgence since arriving at Craven Cottage last summer.

Chukwueze has rediscovered his best form in London after a difficult spell at AC Milan, where he struggled to meet expectations during two underwhelming seasons. His revival at Fulham mirrors the performances that once established him as one of Europe’s most exciting wide players during his time at Villarreal.

It is understood that the player’s representatives have already communicated Fulham’s decision in principle, although formal confirmation is still pending as both clubs prepare for the summer transfer window.

The deal is expected to comprise an initial fee of €24m, with performance-related add-ons potentially increasing the total value to €28m, a financial boost that would allow Milan to reinvest in their squad.

The 26-year-old has been a key figure for Fulham, forming a strong on-field understanding with fellow Nigeria internationals Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi. He has contributed three goals and four assists in 17 Premier League appearances so far.

One of the standout moments of his loan spell came in December, when he netted twice against Manchester City, a performance that highlighted his attacking quality when given regular playing time.

Chukwueze is said to be keen on extending his stay in west London, having already expressed his willingness to remain at the club beyond this season.

He is currently with the Super Eagles squad in Antalya, Turkey, preparing for upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan alongside Bassey and Iwobi.
