Fulham set to seal permanent move for Chukwueze after impressive loan spell

Fulham are closing in on the permanent acquisition of Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan, with the Premier League side now prepared to activate the winger’s agreed buyout clause despite earlier concerns over the transfer fee, Sport360NG reports.

Italian journalist Daniele Longo reports that Fulham have already informed AC Milan of their intention to make the Super Eagles star’s move permanent, relaying their decision through the intermediary responsible for facilitating his initial loan switch to Craven Cottage.

Chukwueze, 26, has emerged as a key component of Fulham’s attacking setup, with the club increasingly convinced of his long-term value and impact in the squad.

AC Milan are set to receive a fixed €24 million fee, with an additional €4 million in performance-related add-ons, taking the total package to €28 million.

The Serie A club will view the deal as a partial recovery of their initial investment, while also easing their wage structure as they prepare for a demanding season that includes European competition.

His time in west London has marked a strong resurgence after two underwhelming seasons in Italy, where he struggled for consistent minutes and failed to cement a regular starting role.

Chukwueze has since rediscovered his form in the Premier League, earning praise from supporters with standout moments including a brace against Manchester City and a decisive influence in Fulham’s win over Brighton.

However, the path to a permanent deal was not straightforward, as Fulham were initially hesitant to meet Milan’s €24 million valuation, considering it excessive relative to their internal assessment of the player’s worth.

AC Milan, on their part, were firm on the terms of the option clause, leaving limited room for negotiation. Both clubs have since aligned on the structure, with Fulham now expected to complete the transfer in the coming weeks.
