Oramah FC Chairman Hails Super Falcons’ WAFCON Triumph, Fulfills N1.5m Goal Incentive

Chairman of Oramah Football Club and Academy, Abuja, Dr. Pat Ifeanyi Oramah, has congratulated the Super Falcons on their historic victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), held in Rabat, Morocco.

Dr. Oramah, who had promised a reward of ₦500,000 for each goal scored by the team in the final, confirmed he would honour the ₦1.5 million incentive after Nigeria edged hosts Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling showdown to clinch a record-extending 10th continental title.

“By winning their 10th WAFCON trophy, the Super Falcons have once again asserted their dominance in women’s football on the continent. Their triumph brings immense pride and joy to all Nigerians,” Oramah said in a statement.

Reflecting on the team’s comeback from a 2-0 deficit, he praised their resilience and fighting spirit, calling it “a testament to the never-say-die attitude that defines the Nigerian character.”

The Oramah FC boss also extended special commendations to team captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who were named Player of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper respectively. He credited the entire squad for their collective effort that led to the individual accolades.

Dr. Oramah further lauded head coach Justin Madugu, who was voted Coach of the Tournament, describing the recognition as proof of the technical quality and leadership of homegrown managers.

“Coach Madugu’s recognition reinforces the depth of talent among our indigenous coaches. It’s a strong case for offering them greater roles in our national teams,” he added.

Explaining the motivation behind his financial pledge, Oramah said he was inspired by the Super Falcons’ talent and determination. He also reaffirmed his academy’s commitment to grooming young talents capable of bringing more glory to the nation.
