Enyimba Go Top After Away Win at Bayelsa, Musa Fires Pillars to Victory

Enyimba FC International climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table with a 2-0 win over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, on Sunday, Sport360NG reports.

After a cagey first half, the breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Chidera Michael put the People’s Elephant ahead. Just five minutes later, Kalu Nweke doubled the lead to seal maximum points for coach Stanley Eguma’s men.

The Aba giants, who endured a disappointing 2024/25 campaign by their lofty standards, are unbeaten in their opening four matches this season, recording two wins and two draws. The result leaves them top of the standings with eight points.

Enyimba will host Bendel Insurance in their next fixture on September 21, while Bayelsa United welcome Nasarawa United to Yenagoa.

In another clash, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa scored his first goal of the season as Kano Pillars edged Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Musa struck in the 65th minute to hand the Sai Masu Gida a crucial victory that moved them further away from the relegation zone. Midfielder Rabiu Ali had earlier missed a penalty, but Musa’s effort proved enough to secure the points for the Kano side.
