NPFL orders Shooting stars to relocate from Lekan Salami stadium
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has instructed Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to vacate the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season, Sport360NG reports.
The Ibadan-based side, popularly known as the Oluyole Warriors, were notified of the decision after a league inspection of the playing surface at the venue.
In a statement to the club, the NPFL said the condition of the pitch has deteriorated significantly and no longer meets the standards required for top-flight football, citing concerns over player safety and the overall quality of matches.
As a consequence, Shooting Stars have been directed to secure an alternative home ground for their remaining league fixtures this season.
The league body has recommended two options to the club: the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta or an approved stadium in Lagos.
The directive is expected to prompt swift logistical adjustments as Shooting Stars seek a suitable venue to host their home matches for the rest of the campaign.
