Samuel Chukwueze mourns mother’s death after brief illness
The mother of Super Eagles and Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze, Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze, has passed away after a brief illness, Sport360NG reports.
Mrs. Chukwueze was confirmed dead in the early hours of the week, plunging the footballer and his family into mourning.
Paying tribute on Instagram, Chukwueze’s brother, David, shared an emotional message in honour of their late mother, expressing deep grief and noting his reluctance to post her photograph. His post, accompanied by broken-heart emojis, reflected the pain of the family’s loss.
The news has drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans and well-wishers across social media, coming just days after the Super Eagles community was shaken by the death of captain Wilfred Ndidi’s father in a road accident on January 27.
Photographs circulating online showing Mrs. Chukwueze with her son in colourful outfits have further highlighted the close bond they shared, underscoring the personal loss suffered by the Nigerian international.
