Johnson set for £35m switch from Spurs to Crystal Palace
Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson is poised to complete a £35m move to Crystal Palace after agreeing personal terms with the south London club, Sport360NG reports.
The transfer is expected to be finalised once the 24-year-old completes a medical on Friday, which would allow the Wales international to be included in Palace’s squad for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Newcastle.
Johnson met Palace head coach Oliver Glasner and senior club officials on Thursday before giving the green light to the move. Those talks proved decisive, leaving the attacker on the brink of a switch to Selhurst Park.
Palace reached an agreement with Tottenham over the fee earlier this week, having identified Johnson as their primary transfer target. Spurs, meanwhile, have been willing to listen to offers, despite the forward enjoying a productive campaign last season.
Johnson finished as Tottenham’s top scorer with 18 goals and memorably netted the decisive strike in their Europa League final win over Manchester United in Bilbao. However, he does not feature prominently in the long-term plans of new head coach Thomas Frank, clearing the way for his departure.
