Top Lagos clubs set for 2025 LASUSTECH vice chancellor’s tennis tournament

The 2025 Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Vice Chancellor’s Tennis Tournament is expected to feature a strong field, with top players from leading tennis clubs across Lagos confirmed for the competition, Sport360NG reports.

According to LASUSTECH Tennis Club Public Relations Officer, Dr Christian Odedafena, this year’s edition will welcome participants from the Nigerian Navy Tennis Club, Mainland Tennis Club, Ijebu Ode Tennis Club, as well as the host club.

Internal matches for LASUSTECH players will serve off on Saturday, November 22, at the club’s courts in Ikorodu, continuing on Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30.

Players from invited clubs will join the action on Friday, December 5, while the grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025.

LASUSTECH Tennis Club captain, Gafar Tayo, said his team is determined to improve on last year’s showing, when they surrendered the singles title to Police College Tennis Club but claimed the doubles trophy.

Club president, Dimeji Jojoola, added that winners will receive various prizes, including household electronics, alongside several other attractions lined up for the closing ceremony.
