Red-Hot John Ejoor firing ATSV Wolfsberg’s promotion charge in Austria
ATSV Wolfsberg forward John Ejoor has been one of the standout performers in the Kärntner Liga this season, delivering 13 goals in 12 appearances to establish himself as one of the division’s most prolific attackers, Sport360NG reports.
The 24-year-old Nigerian, who joined the Austrian fourth-tier side in the summer of 2025, has made an immediate impact, scoring in every home match and registering all his goals from open play. He has also contributed two assists, playing a central role in Wolfsberg’s surge to the top of the table.
His blistering form has endeared him to supporters, who have nicknamed him “The Nigerian Nightmare” for opposition defences. Ejoor says he is fully focused on helping the club secure promotion.
“My ambition is to get promoted with ATSV Wolfsberg to the next level, the regional league in Austria,” he told Sports outlets. “It would be a delight to move up the ladder with the club. I see I have become a favourite among the fans and I love it.”
Wolfsberg currently hold a two-point lead over Volkermarkt in the 16-team league, with 35 points from 16 matches. They have scored 44 goals and conceded 17, with Ejoor directly involved in 15 of those goals.
Only the league winners will be promoted at the end of the campaign, keeping Wolfsberg’s hopes, and Ejoor’s form, crucial as the season progresses.
