Morocco began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on a high note, defeating Comoros 2–0 to claim their first three points of the tournament in front of a lively home crowd, Sport360NG reports.

After a tight, goalless first half, the Atlas Lions returned from the break with renewed determination, gradually asserting control over a stubborn Comoros side.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when Brahim Diaz netted the tournament’s opening goal. The forward expertly converted a precise pass from Noussair Mazraoui, giving Morocco the lead and injecting fresh momentum into the match.

Comoros struggled to respond under sustained pressure, and Morocco’s dominance was emphatically confirmed in the 74th minute. Ayoub El Kaabi delivered a spectacular finish, executing a bicycle kick that doubled the lead and effectively sealed the victory.

From that point, Morocco managed the game with composure, restricting Comoros to few opportunities and maintaining control until the final whistle.

The result provides Morocco with a strong start to their AFCON campaign, signaling their intentions to contend for continental honours and build momentum in the group stage.
