Atalanta Set €50m Price Tag on Lookman Amid Growing Transfer Interest

Atalanta have made their stance clear regarding the future of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, insisting that the 2024 African Footballer of the Year will only be allowed to leave this summer if a substantial offer is presented.

Italian outlet Le Bombe di Vlad reports that while the Serie A club is not outright opposed to parting ways with the in-form attacker, they have slapped a hefty valuation of €45m to €50m on him firmly shutting the door on any bids below €30m.

“Lookman will only leave Zingonia if a significant offer arrives,” the report stated, emphasizing that Atalanta’s asking price reflects the player’s consistent high-level performances, particularly in decisive matches last season.

The 26-year-old’s market value has surged after a standout campaign in which he bagged a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final to secure Atalanta’s first European trophy. In total, he racked up 20 goals and seven assists during the 2024/25 season, adding to his impressive tally of 55 goals and 25 assists since joining the club in 2022.

Despite attracting interest from several top clubs—including Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Juventus, and Napoli—none have tabled an offer that meets Atalanta’s demands. Barcelona are said to admire Lookman as a ready-made option for their frontline but reportedly fell short with their initial approach. Arsenal have rekindled their interest in the winger, though he’s believed to be their third-choice target for wide attacking reinforcements.

Meanwhile, Juventus and Napoli are monitoring the situation, but Atalanta remain firm. The club, now under the guidance of new manager Ivan Juric, views Lookman as integral to their ongoing project and are under no pressure to sell, particularly with two years remaining on his contract.

“Lookman has not requested a move and remains committed to the Atalanta project,” the report noted, while acknowledging that interest from a major European heavyweight could yet shift the dynamic.

Even with reports suggesting Atalanta have lined up a potential replacement, club executives are reportedly unwilling to compromise on their valuation. Le Bombe di Vlad concluded: “Lookman’s exit will only be entertained under exceptional circumstances. Any club serious about signing him must come forward with a bid that removes all doubt.”
