Confident Oshoba Eyes Dominant Win Against Parker in Florida Bout

Nigerian boxing star Elizabeth Oshoba has declared her readiness for her upcoming featherweight clash against American fighter Melissa Parker, scheduled for August 22 in Orlando, Florida.

Oshoba, who hails from Ogun State, remains unbeaten in her professional career with a flawless 9-0 record, including five wins by knockout. The reigning WBC Silver and IBO International featherweight champion views the bout as another vital step toward unifying world titles.

“I’m focused, hungry, and more prepared than ever,” the 25-year-old told Sport360NG. “Every challenge pushes me forward, and I’m ready to show everything I’ve been working on.”

Her confident remarks follow a major boost in her career trajectory, having recently signed a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions, the company co-founded by social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul. The agreement marks a significant milestone for Oshoba, who made history earlier this year as Nigeria’s first female boxer to capture a world title.

Currently ranked 10th in the WBA featherweight division and fourth at super lightweight, Oshoba continues to build momentum. She extended her unbeaten run with a commanding points victory over Czech opponent Lenka Volejnikova at York Hall in London, a performance that further cemented her reputation as one of the sport’s brightest prospects.

Since turning professional, Oshoba has steadily collected accolades. Her WBC Silver featherweight title came with a stunning 10th-round knockout of Italy’s Michela Braga in Copenhagen, a win that signaled her emergence on the global stage.

Her next opponent, Parker, brings considerable experience to the ring. With a record of six wins, three defeats, and a draw, including two knockouts, the American fighter is expected to pose a tough test for Oshoba at this critical stage in her career.

Victory in Orlando would not only maintain Oshoba’s unbeaten record but also move her closer to a world title unification fight, potentially against more established names in the featherweight ranks.
