PSG Seal €40m Deal for Lille Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, Donnarumma Future in Doubt
Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a €40 million move for Lille’s star goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, a signing that could spark speculation over Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at the club, Sport360NG reports.
The 23-year-old, recently nominated for the prestigious Yashin Trophy, will sign a five-year deal after an outstanding season in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
The Frenchman is set to join the Ligue 1 champions on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee reported to be in the region of €40 million ($46.5m). His arrival could cast doubt over the future of Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract with PSG expires next summer and is expected to attract interest from Premier League sides.
Chevalier, recently shortlisted for the Yashin Trophy at this year’s Ballon d’Or awards, earned recognition for his standout displays in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season. He helped Lille secure a fifth-place finish and qualification for the Europa League.
