Brighton bring back Agyemang on loan from Arsenal

Brighton & Hove Albion have secured the return of England striker Michelle Agyemang on loan from Arsenal for the 2025-26 Women’s Super League season, Sport360NG reports.

The 19-year-old, who came through Arsenal’s academy, enjoyed a productive spell with the Seagulls last term, scoring five goals in 22 outings as they achieved their highest-ever league finish.

Agyemang’s reputation has soared in recent months after playing a crucial part in England’s Euro 2025 triumph. She was named Young Player of the Tournament, having come off the bench to score decisive goals in the quarter-final against Sweden and semi-final against Italy.

Brighton boss Dario Vidosic said the club was thrilled to have her back:
“Her summer with England was remarkable, though not unexpected. Michelle’s attitude and drive are those of a true champion. She played a major role in our success last season and we’re excited to see her continue that with us.”

Despite making her senior Arsenal debut in 2022, Agyemang has found regular opportunities hard to come by in north London, making only six first-team appearances. With competition for attacking places fierce, the Gunners believe another year at Brighton will aid her development.

Clare Wheatley, Arsenal’s director of women’s football, added:
“We’re extremely proud of Michelle’s journey through our academy to the first team. After conversations with her and her family, we felt this loan would give her the platform to keep growing as both a player and a person. We look forward to welcoming her back next summer.”

Agyemang’s impact has already been recognised beyond club football. She is on the shortlist for the prestigious women’s Kopa Trophy, awarded to the world’s best under-21 players, and was nominated for the WSL Rising Star award last season.

The teenager, who famously scored just 41 seconds into her England debut against Belgium in April, now returns to the south coast seeking regular game time to build on a whirlwind year.
