Jake Paul offers prayers for Anthony Joshua after deadly car crash in Nigeria
American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has expressed concern and sympathy after British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road accident in Ogun State, Nigeria, Sport360NG reports.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Paul wrote: “Life is much more important than boxing. I am praying for the lost lives, AJ, and anyone impacted by today’s unfortunate accident.” The message quickly went viral, amassing over 227,000 views within hours and drawing reactions from fans, athletes, and commentators across the boxing community.
The post comes just weeks after Joshua defeated Paul in their December 19 bout in Miami, where Joshua stopped Paul with a sixth-round knockout, reportedly breaking the American’s jaw in two places.
According to Sport360NG, Joshua survived a collision that tragically claimed two lives. The accident involved a black Lexus SUV carrying Joshua and other occupants and a red Sinotruck.
No official medical statement regarding Joshua’s condition has been released as of this report, but the incident has prompted an outpouring of concern online, with fans and Nigerians sending prayers and well-wishes for the boxer and all those affected.
