Mutapa hails Power Dynamos’ resolve after decisive away win over Rivers united

Power Dynamos head coach Oswald Mutapa insisted his side fully merited their victory after the Zambian champions edged Nigeria’s Rivers United 1–0 in a CAF Champions League Group match in Uyo, Sport360NG reports.

The visitors claimed a vital away win in Sunday’s Matchday Four fixture, a result that significantly dented Rivers United’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.

Speaking after the match, Mutapa praised the discipline and resilience shown by his players, arguing that Power Dynamos controlled large spells of the contest despite late pressure from the hosts.

“We knew it was never going to be an easy game, but we were ready to fight for the win,” Mutapa said. “We controlled the game when we had the ball, although the last 15 minutes were more difficult. Overall, we are pleased with the result.”
