Chelsea give green light for striker Jackson to leave the club

The 24-year-old spent Friday training separately, amid reported interest from Newcastle United, who are looking for attacking options after missing out on Manchester United’s new signing, Benjamin Sesko, Sport360NG reports.

A transfer appears to be in the best interest of both Jackson and Chelsea. The Blues have already bolstered their forward line this summer by acquiring Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

Chelsea is aiming to recoup at least double the £32 million they paid to bring the Senegalese forward to the club in 2023, with Villarreal rumored as a potential destination.

The club values Jackson higher than Arsenal’s recent £52 million purchase of Noni Madueke, citing Jackson’s stronger goal-scoring and assist record.

Should Chelsea fail to receive an offer meeting their valuation, they intend to welcome Jackson back into the squad.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku has also been left out of the matchday squad as he recovers from a minor injury and is reportedly involved in potential transfer discussions.

Over two seasons at Chelsea, Jackson has tallied 30 goals and 12 assists across 80 appearances.

In September 2024, the forward committed his future to the club with a nine-year contract, extending his stay until 2033.
