Manchester United Unveils Upgraded Training Ground to Boost Future Success – Jim Ratcliffe

The club invested £50 million ($67 million) to modernize the facility, which has served as United’s training base since 2000. Renovations wrapped up during the 2024/25 season, and Ruben Amorim’s squad has recently moved into the updated men’s first-team building after returning from their pre-season tour in the United States, Sport360NG reports.

Ratcliffe, a British billionaire who acquired a minority stake in the club last year, committed to pouring $300 million into infrastructure improvements.

“After reviewing the existing facility last year, we swiftly decided to make a significant investment in creating a top-tier performance hub for players and staff, reflecting our ambitions and vision for Manchester United,” Ratcliffe said in an official club statement.

“We’re very pleased with the final results and confident this upgraded training ground will be a vital part of fostering a winning mentality within the team.”

The renovation was managed by Foster + Partners, the same architectural firm entrusted last September with designing the masterplan for United’s proposed 100,000-seat stadium.

United’s men’s side endured their most disappointing league finish in over half a century last season, ending up 15th in the Premier League standings. The club has not secured the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in 2013.

Heading into the new season, Amorim has bolstered his attacking options with signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, while Benjamin Sesko is expected to join from RB Leipzig in a deal worth around £74 million.
