Galatasaray Close In on Victor Osimhen Deal After Reaching Agreement with Striker

Galatasaray have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, reaching a verbal agreement with the Nigerian striker over a four-year contract worth £14 million per season, according to Sport360NG.

The Turkish champions are now working to convince Napoli to approve the transfer, having expressed their readiness to meet the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract. However, rather than paying the fee in one lump sum, Galatasaray are proposing a staggered payment plan, split into five instalments — a structure that does not align with the immediate payment terms stipulated in the release clause.

Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports that Napoli are yet to accept this payment formula, and it remains unclear whether the Serie A club will agree to compromise or insist on receiving the full fee upfront.

Galatasaray are determined to secure Osimhen on a permanent basis following a spectacular loan spell in the 2024/25 season. The 26-year-old forward made a huge impact in Istanbul, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, helping the club clinch both the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

Club vice-president Abdullah Kavukçu has reportedly travelled to Italy to continue negotiations in person, underlining Galatasaray’s intent to finalise the deal. Their willingness to meet the release clause marks a decisive shift in approach as they aim to retain one of their most influential players.

Osimhen is said to have cooled on a move to the Premier League after no formal bids materialised from long-linked clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, or Liverpool. He also reportedly turned down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed the striker has agreed terms with Galatasaray and is now awaiting the final paperwork before his permanent transfer is officially completed.
