Kano Pillars Secure ₦100m Media Partnership with RFI Hausa
Kano Pillars Football Club has entered into a landmark ₦100 million partnership with Radio France Internationale (RFI) Hausa aimed at boosting the club’s development and expanding its media presence.
The partnership was officially unveiled on Thursday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, during a ceremony attended by key figures from both organisations.
Ahmed Musa, General Manager of Kano Pillars and former Super Eagles captain, signed the agreement on behalf of the club. Speaking at the event, Musa described the collaboration as a “major milestone” that would significantly enhance the club’s branding and operational capacity.
“RFI has gone above and beyond in their support. While they’re providing ₦5 million in cash, the total package including equipment and services amounts to ₦100 million,” he said.
According to Musa, the one-year agreement includes ₦45 million in cash and ₦55 million worth of digital media equipment, training, and kits. The deal will see RFI Hausa sponsor new jerseys for the team and provide essential media tools such as cameras and computers, alongside monthly training sessions for the club’s media department.
A sample of the new jersey featuring traditional Kano designs was unveiled during the event.
Musa urged individuals and corporate bodies to take a cue from RFI Hausa by supporting football growth in Kano and the wider region.
Speaking on behalf of RFI Hausa, Joseph Penny, the organisation’s Director in Nigeria, said the initiative was aimed at giving Kano Pillars greater international exposure and improving their digital content and social media strategy.
“This partnership is about more than just placing logos on jerseys,” Penny said. “It’s about contributing to the club’s legacy and future.”
He highlighted RFI Hausa’s strong online following with over 1.6 million followers on Facebook and nearly 800,000 on TikTok as a key advantage in promoting the club globally.
Joe Penney, Director of France Médias Monde Nigeria, echoed the enthusiasm, stating: “RFI Hausa is excited to work with such a respected and popular football club. We share in their vision and are committed to helping them grow.”
The agreement extends to all levels of Kano Pillars FC, including the senior squad, the reserves, Junior Pillars, and youth teams in the U-13, U-15, and U-19 age groups.
