Arsenal Close In on Mosquera Deal as Defender Joins Pre-season Tour
Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, who is set to link up with the squad in Singapore for their ongoing pre-season tour.
The 21-year-old has been granted permission by Valencia to travel and join the Gunners, having already reached an agreement on personal terms.
Mosquera, a Spain U-21 international, is expected to add depth to Arsenal’s defensive options, offering cover for both William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. His versatility allows him to operate as a centre-back and at right-back — a timely reinforcement following the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who recently left the club by mutual consent.
Mosquera made 90 appearances for Valencia, and featured prominently last season, completing 90 minutes in 37 of their 38 La Liga fixtures.
Arsenal will face AC Milan at Singapore’s National Stadium on Wednesday before playing Newcastle United at the same venue on Sunday. The tour will then continue to Hong Kong, where they take on Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their return to London.
