Lookman Snubs Arsenal, Holds Out for Inter Milan as Atalanta Threaten Legal Action

Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has reportedly turned down the prospect of joining Premier League outfit Arsenal, insisting on staying in Serie A as he pushes for a move to Inter Milan, Sport360NG reports.

The 27-year-old Nigerian forward is currently in a standoff with Atalanta, who have blocked his desired switch to the Nerazzurri. Lookman has not reported for La Dea’s pre-season training camp, with the Europa League champions rejecting two offers from Inter and holding out for their €50m valuation, a stance that has left the player frustrated.

While Atalanta are open to selling him, the Bergamo club have been hoping for bids from outside Italy. However, Lookman is believed to have made it clear that he is only interested in joining Inter.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the former Leicester City man has already reached a full agreement with the San Siro side, and Inter boss Cristian Chivu has made him a top target, even willing to alter his formation to accommodate the winger. The club has reportedly paused pursuits of other attacking options to keep Lookman focused on the move.

In a further twist, Atalanta are said to be preparing legal action after Lookman left Italy without permission, skipping training in protest over the failed transfer. Football Italia reports that the club’s owners, the Percassi family, are considering disciplinary measures that could lead to a hefty fine, with the player also refusing to maintain contact since his departure.
