Roma Table £20m Bid for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho

Roma have submitted a £20m offer to sign England winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, with the player still training away from the first-team squad, Sport360NG reports.

Sancho, 25, has been instructed to secure a move before the transfer window shuts on 1 September. The former Borussia Dortmund star joined United for £73m in 2021 but has struggled to cement his place at Old Trafford.

Juventus, who, unlike Roma, will compete in this season’s Champions League, are also monitoring his situation.

The winger returned to United this summer after Chelsea paid a £5m penalty to avoid making his loan move permanent, having spent last season at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in Italy suggest Roma may explore a loan deal that includes conditional purchase clauses at the end of the campaign. However, with Sancho’s contract set to expire next summer, and United holding an option for an extra year, the terms could prove tricky, especially given his sizeable wages.

United are prioritising a permanent transfer but could be forced to consider a loan if no agreement is reached as the deadline approaches, in order to reduce their wage bill.

Sancho is one of four players, alongside Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrrell Malacia, who have been training separately from Ruben Amorim’s squad since the start of pre-season, with the club expecting them to depart before the window closes.
