Donnarumma Set to Join Manchester City as Ederson Agrees Fenerbahce Move

Manchester City are close to finalizing a deal to bring in goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris St-Germain, with the transfer expected to cost just over £30m. As part of the shake-up, Ederson is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce, Sport360NG reports.

Donnarumma, 26, has fallen down the pecking order at PSG following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier from Lille in August. With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, he is now poised to move to City in a deal reportedly worth €35m (£30.3m) before Monday’s 19:00 BST transfer deadline.

City’s summer signing James Trafford, who arrived from Burnley for £27m, has started the season as Pep Guardiola’s first-choice goalkeeper. However, sources have told BBC Sport that the manager has targeted Donnarumma, and the transfer is expected to be completed imminently.

Donnarumma is widely regarded as one of the world’s top goalkeepers. He has earned 74 caps for Italy and was a key figure in their Euro 2020 triumph, saving penalties in the final shootout against England.

Meanwhile, Brazilian Ederson, City’s number one since 2017, has agreed to join Fenerbahce in a £12.1m (€14m) move. The 32-year-old won six Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League and FA Cup, after signing from Benfica for £35m, but he has yet to play this season.

City currently have four senior goalkeepers, and sources close to Stefan Ortega indicate he is also looking to leave the club. Marcus Bettinelli, signed from Chelsea in the summer, adds to the squad’s depth.

On the pitch, City began their Premier League campaign with a 4-0 win at Wolves but have since suffered consecutive defeats against Tottenham and Brighton.
