Gyokeres Strike Earns Arsenal 1-0 Victory at Hill Dickinson stadium
Viktor Gyokeres marked the end of his scoring drought with a decisive first-half penalty as Arsenal claimed a hard-earned 1-0 Premier League victory over Everton at Hill Dickinson stadium, Everton new home on Saturday, Sport360NG reports.
The Sweden forward calmly dispatched his spot-kick in the 27th minute after Arsenal were awarded a penalty, a goal that proved enough to separate the sides.
Arsenal largely controlled proceedings, dictating the tempo and enjoying the majority of possession, while Everton found it difficult to penetrate the visitors’ well-organised defence.
Gyokeres’ strike was his first in several matches and will come as a welcome boost for both the player and Mikel Arteta’s side, who have made an impressive start to the campaign.
The result lifts Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table, underlining their early title credentials, while Everton will aim to respond positively as they seek to climb the standings in their next outing.
