Hassania Agadir initiates legal action against coach Amir Abdou over contract termination
Moroccan top-flight side Hassania Agadir have commenced legal proceedings against head coach Amir Abdou after he reportedly ended his contract unilaterally to take up the position of head coach of the Burkina Faso national football team, Sport360NG reports.
The Botola Pro club disclosed that Abdou communicated his decision through an email despite still having roughly one-and-a-half seasons remaining on his contract, which also included an option for an extension.
In an official statement, Hassania Agadir confirmed that the termination notice was received on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, via the club’s official email address. The club described the action as a unilateral breach of contract and stated that it would explore all available legal and regulatory channels to defend its interests.
“Hassania Agadir confirms that it received, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a message from coach Amir Abdou through the club’s official email in which he communicated his decision to terminate his contract with the club unilaterally,” the statement said.
The Moroccan outfit further indicated that it would immediately initiate the appropriate legal and administrative procedures in accordance with existing regulations to protect its rights, interests and reputation.
The club also reassured its supporters that steps are being taken to maintain stability within the team while the issue is being addressed.
