BREAKING: Kane returns to Bayern training ahead of Real Madrid clash after injury concern
Harry Kane has boosted Bayern Munich ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg encounter against Real Madrid after taking part in Monday’s training session as he continues his recovery from an ankle issue, Sport360NG reports.
The England captain had sustained the injury during international duty in late March, forcing him to withdraw from last week’s friendly defeat to Japan at Wembley. Thomas Tuchel had earlier described the problem as a minor setback.
Kane was subsequently left out of Bayern’s squad for their 3-2 Bundesliga victory over Freiburg at the weekend, raising concerns over his availability for the high-profile European fixture.
However, the 32-year-old striker trained with his teammates during a 15-minute session open to the media on Monday, appearing in positive condition ahead of the clash.
Head coach Vincent Kompany is expected to make a late decision on Kane’s involvement, with a final call on his starting role to be taken on matchday.
Kane has been in prolific form this season, registering 48 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions, including 10 goals in nine Champions League matches.
