Adarabioyo Yet to Commit to Super Eagles Despite Nigeria Links
Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo says he is still weighing up his international future, despite growing speculation that he is set to represent Nigeria, Sport360NG reports.
Born in Manchester to Nigerian parents, the 26-year-old has previously featured for England at various youth levels, including the U-16, U-17, U-18, and U-19 teams. However, he remains uncapped at senior level, keeping the door open for a possible switch to the Super Eagles.
Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea this summer from Fulham, made his first-ever visit to Nigeria in July. When asked about the possibility of switching allegiance, he admitted that no final decision had been made.
“It’s something I still think about. We’ll see in the near future, hopefully, and I’ll start to make a decision,” he said. “It’s just something that has obviously been a topic for many years now since I’ve become a professional footballer. But again, like I said, we’ll see.”
Sources close to the defender suggest he is leaning toward committing to the three-time African champions, though a formal announcement has not yet been made. If he does opt for Nigeria, a debut call-up could follow shortly, although the September international window may come too soon, with administrative processes like paperwork and FIFA clearance still to be sorted.
