Turkish giants Besiktas have presented Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi after the 27-year-old completed his medical in Istanbul, moving a step closer to sealing a transfer from Leicester City, Sport360NG reports.

In a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform on Thursday, the Super Lig side confirmed they have opened formal talks with both Ndidi and Leicester over the move.

“Negotiations have started with professional footballer Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi and his club Leicester City Football Club Limited regarding his transfer,” the club announced.

Ndidi, who joined Leicester from Belgian side Genk in 2017, has been a consistent presence for the Foxes and was instrumental during their most recent Premier League campaign. With only 12 months remaining on his contract, his future at the King Power Stadium has been uncertain, attracting interest from several European clubs.

Besiktas see the Super Eagles star as a key part of their midfield rebuild for the 2025/26 season, having already made multiple signings in the current transfer window.

As part of the process, Ndidi underwent a series of medical tests at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital on Thursday morning, including blood work, orthopaedic checks, and endurance assessments.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that an agreement has been reached between all parties, with Besiktas set to pay €9.5 million for the defensive midfielder.
