Paris FC striker Moses Simon has thanked former club FC Nantes after receiving a special tribute during Saturday’s pre-season friendly between the two sides, Sport360NG reports.

The Nigerian forward, who ended a six-year spell with Nantes this summer in a €7m move to newly promoted Paris FC, was honoured at the Stade de la Beaujoire before kick-off in Paris FC’s 3-2 victory. Nantes players formed a guard of honour as Simon walked onto the pitch, while fans applauded and the club presented him with a commemorative plaque.

Sharing his emotions on social media, the 29-year-old wrote: “Thank you for the warm welcome at FC Nantes. Honoured by the tribute and grateful to play again in front of the amazing Nantes fans. It was also special to reunite with my former teammates.”

Simon joined Nantes on loan from Levante in 2019 before making the switch permanent the following year. Over six seasons, he made 201 appearances, scored 37 goals and provided 42 assists, becoming a key figure for the Ligue 1 side. He helped Nantes win the Coupe de France in 2022, reach the final again in 2023, and played a major role in keeping the club in the top flight on several occasions.

In his final season with Les Canaris, Simon registered eight goals and 10 assists as Nantes finished 13th, six points above the relegation zone.
