Breaking: Nottingham Forest sack Postecoglou after Just 39 days in charge
Nottingham Forest have parted ways with manager Ange Postecoglou following their 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea at the City Ground on Saturday, Sport360NG reports.
The Australian’s dismissal comes just 39 days after his appointment on September 9, marking the shortest managerial tenure in Premier League history.
Postecoglou, who previously managed Tottenham Hotspur, failed to secure a victory during his time at Forest, recording two draws and six defeats in eight matches across all competitions.
Under his leadership, the club picked up only one point from five league games, leaving them hovering just above the relegation zone in 17th place.
A statement from the club read: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that, following a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.
“The club will make no further comment at this time.”
