Mbappé funds construction, renovation of primary school in Cameroon
France international Kylian Mbappé has launched a major philanthropic project in Cameroon by financing the construction and renovation of a public primary school in the country, Sport360NG reports.
The initiative focuses on the transformation of Bonendale Public School in Bonabéri, a community on the outskirts of Douala that is connected to the ancestral roots of Mbappé’s father.

The project is designed to upgrade the school’s infrastructure and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils in the area, with improved facilities expected to enhance the quality of education available to children in the community.

Mbappé, who was born in Paris to a Cameroonian father and an Algerian mother, has frequently expressed pride in his African heritage and ties to the continent. The school project is seen as part of his broader effort to give back to communities linked to his family background.

Once completed, the development is expected to modernise the learning environment at the school while expanding educational opportunities for children in Bonabéri.

The initiative has drawn praise from many observers as a meaningful contribution to grassroots development and education in Cameroon, further underlining Mbappé’s commitment to making a positive social impact beyond the football pitch.
