More than 250 players drawn from elite and youth categories are expected to compete for honours at the sixth edition of the National Table Tennis Championships, tagged the Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Tournament, scheduled to hold in Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State, from April 12 to 17, 2026, Sport360NG reports.

The competition, organised by the Osun State Table Tennis Association under the supervision of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation and supported by the Michael and Felicia Alabi Foundation, will take place at the newly built Idera Multi-Purpose Hall in the ancient town.

The tournament will feature athletes across several divisions, including veterans, para-athletes and deaf players, highlighting the organisers’ commitment to inclusivity and equal participation.

Aside from the on-table action, the event is expected to draw coaches, talent scouts, sports administrators and enthusiasts from across the country, further strengthening its reputation as a platform for discovering and nurturing table tennis talents in Nigeria.

Over the years, the championship has served as a launchpad for emerging players to showcase their abilities on the national stage, while also providing experienced competitors with the opportunity to reinforce their dominance in the sport.

Events at the tournament will span multiple categories, ranging from the Under-15 singles division to competitions for veterans, para-athletes and deaf players.

At the previous edition, Abdulbasit Abdulfatai of Kwara State and Hope Udoaka of Cross River State claimed the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively.
