Trent Alexander-Arnold has acknowledged Paris Saint-Germain’s strength but remains confident that Real Madrid have what it takes to overcome any opponent.

Real Madrid booked their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Despite playing with 10 men for a portion of the match, the Spanish giants showed their trademark grit to fend off Dortmund’s late push and advance to a much-anticipated semi-final clash against PSG.

Speaking after the thrilling encounter, Alexander-Arnold, who joined Madrid from Liverpool, praised PSG but made it clear that his side is ready for the challenge.

“They’re European champions for a reason—an incredibly strong side,” he said. “But we believe in ourselves. We’re stronger and capable of beating anyone.”

Reflecting on his transition to life in Spain, the England international expressed his excitement about representing one of the world’s most storied clubs.

“Playing for Real Madrid has been a dream. Every time I step on the pitch, it feels surreal. I’m sharing the field with some of the best players in the world,” he added.

Real Madrid had taken a 2-0 lead with goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia, but Dortmund fought back late, with Maximilian Beier pulling one back.

The closing minutes were filled with drama. Kylian Mbappé extended Madrid’s lead with a spectacular acrobatic strike, only for Dean Huijsen to receive a straight red card for a foul on Serhou Guirassy, which also led to a penalty.

Despite the setback, Carlo Ancelotti’s side held on to secure the win and set up a blockbuster semi-final tie against PSG.

Earlier in the day, PSG claimed a convincing 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
