Club World Cup 2025: Semi-final fixtures confirmed – date, time
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has reached its penultimate stage, with the semi-final fixtures now confirmed following a dramatic round of quarter-final matches on Saturday.
Real Madrid clinched the last available spot in the semi-finals after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund. First-half goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia put the Spanish side in control, but Dortmund clawed one back in extra time through Maximilian Beier. Kylian Mbappe responded quickly for Madrid to restore their two-goal advantage.
However, a red card shown to Dean Huijsen for a professional foul offered Dortmund a late glimmer of hope. Serhou Guirassy converted the resulting penalty to make it 3-2, but Madrid held firm to seal the win.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men will now face Paris Saint-Germain in a blockbuster semi-final tie.
PSG earned their spot after a commanding 2-0 win over Bayern Munich earlier in the day, with the French champions holding on despite being reduced to nine men by the final whistle.
In the other semi-final encounter, Chelsea are set to take on Brazilian side Fluminense. The Blues secured their place with a 2-1 win against Palmeiras, while Fluminense advanced by eliminating Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, promising two exciting showdowns as the tournament heads toward its climax.
