Ajibade Returns to MFM Church to Celebrate WAFCON Triumph
Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade paid a heartfelt visit to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) on Saturday, offering thanks to her spiritual home following Nigeria’s historic triumph at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Sport360NG reports.
Ajibade, who led the Falcons to their record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco, attended the church’s August edition of the monthly Power Must Change Hands programme at MFM’s Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
During the service, the Atletico Madrid star presented her winner’s medal and individual awards to the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and his wife, in a symbolic act of gratitude for what she described as divine protection throughout the tournament.
In a moving testimony, Ajibade reflected on her journey from modest beginnings to continental glory. She recalled hawking olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks during past deliverance services on the same church grounds, long before her rise to football stardom.
“Whenever things get tough at my club or with the national team, I always turn to prayer,” she told the congregation. “I do my part through hard work, but I never forget to seek God’s help.”
She encouraged worshippers, especially young girls, to remain steadfast in their faith.
“I used to be one of those girls selling drinks outside this church. Today, I give all the glory to God. Please don’t give up, keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing.”
Ajibade’s visit was met with cheers and prayers from the congregation, who celebrated not only her personal achievement but the team’s collective success on the continental stage.
