Eberechi Eze Keen on Tottenham Switch as Champions League Football Beckons

England and Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze is eager to secure a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the lure of Champions League football proving a major draw following Spurs’ Europa League triumph, Sport360NG reports.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano and multiple other sources, Eze has informed Palace of his interest in joining Tottenham. Negotiations now hinge on talks between the two clubs, with Spurs understood to be actively pursuing the deal.

Tottenham’s renewed push for the 26-year-old comes as new manager Thomas Frank looks to reinforce his attacking options in the wake of long-term injuries to James Maddison (ACL) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee surgery). Eze, who netted 14 goals and registered 11 assists across 43 appearances last season, is viewed as an ideal creative addition.

While the midfielder’s £68 million release clause expired on August 8, Spurs are expected to offer around £60 million plus add-ons to tempt Palace into selling. Arsenal are also monitoring the situation, though their interest is dependent on player sales, with Leandro Trossard among those potentially leaving.

Eze has previously described playing for Arsenal as a “dream,” having been released by the club at the age of 13. However, with Tottenham currently in a stronger position to fund the transfer, Spurs appear to have the advantage in the race for his signature.
