PSG Sign Illia Zabarnyi as First Ukrainian Player in Club’s History
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth, marking the first time a player from Ukraine will represent the French giants, Sport360NG reports.
The Ligue 1 and European champions announced the move on Tuesday, describing the 22-year-old as an exciting addition to their squad. Zabarnyi enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign in the Premier League, and his arrival is expected to increase competition for places in central defence, particularly alongside captain Marquinhos.
His departure continues a defensive reshuffle at Bournemouth, who have now lost three key starters from last season. Left-back Milos Kerkez has joined reigning Premier League champions Liverpool, while centre-back Dean Huijsen has completed a switch to Real Madrid.
