AC Milan agree deal for Chelsea forward Nkunku

AC Milan have reached an agreement worth £36m, including add-ons, to sign Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku, Sport360NG reports.

The 27-year-old is set to commit to a five-year deal at San Siro and will take a pay cut to finalise the move. He has already been granted permission to undergo a medical in Italy.

Chelsea have inserted a sell-on clause in the agreement, which brings an end to Nkunku’s two-season spell at Stamford Bridge following his £52m arrival from RB Leipzig in 2023.

His departure is part of a wider reshuffle at the London club. Talks are progressing over a potential move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, while forward Nicolas Jackson is negotiating a loan switch to Bayern Munich that could include an obligation to buy.

The Nkunku sale also strengthens Chelsea’s financial position. The Blues have now generated an estimated £309m from player departures this summer, more than any other Premier League club, while spending roughly £277m on new arrivals.

Such outgoings are particularly significant given UEFA’s sanctions, which saw Chelsea fined €31m (£26.7m) and instructed to ensure a positive transfer balance in order to register new signings for the Champions League.

Nkunku leaves after scoring 18 goals and providing five assists in 62 appearances. The France international helped the club lift both the Club World Cup and the Conference League this year.
