Bills Launch Season With Stunning Comeback as NFL Returns in Style
The Buffalo Bills pulled off a remarkable turnaround to shock the Baltimore Ravens in a pulsating opener to the new NFL season, Sport360NG reports.
Quarterbacks Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, both former MVPs, produced a duel of the highest quality, but it was Allen who had the final say, sparking a late rally that sealed a 41-40 victory after Buffalo trailed by 15 points in the final quarter.
Elsewhere, Aaron Rodgers and Micah Parsons enjoyed winning starts with their new teams, while the Indianapolis Colts finally ended years of opening-day misery with a statement win. Across the league, late drama and eye-catching rookie displays signaled that Sundays are well and truly back.
Allen Inspires Buffalo Miracle
Many fans had already begun leaving Highmark Stadium when Baltimore surged ahead in the fourth quarter, only for Allen to deliver a trademark rescue act.

Jackson, aided by new running back Derrick Henry, had powered the Ravens into a commanding position. Henry racked up 169 yards and two touchdowns, but his late fumble gave Buffalo hope.

Allen engineered 16 points in the final four minutes, capped by veteran kicker Matt Prater, signed just days earlier, landing a 32-yard field goal as time expired. The comeback marked Buffalo’s first win from 15 points down in the final quarter since 1967.
Allen finished with 394 passing yards, two touchdown throws, and two rushing scores. “Our team didn’t quit,” he said post-game. “Maybe some people left early, but hopefully next time they’ll have faith.”
Rodgers Haunts Former Team
Making his first start for the Pittsburgh Steelers, 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers wasted no time in proving a point to the New York Jets, who moved on from him in the summer.
Rodgers threw four touchdown passes in a thrilling 34-32 win at MetLife Stadium, including the decisive drive set up by a Jets fumble before Chris Boswell nailed a 60-yard field goal, the longest in Steelers history.
“There were people in that organisation who thought I was done,” Rodgers said. “Tonight was a reminder I’ve still got it.” He became the first player in 15 years to throw four touchdowns against a former team.
Parsons Makes Immediate Impact in Green Bay
Linebacker Micah Parsons wasted little time making his presence felt on debut for the Green Bay Packers. Recently acquired from Dallas, he featured in fewer than half the snaps but still managed a sack and constant pressure in a 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions.
“The trade was tough to take, but this felt like a fresh start,” Parsons said. Green Bay’s defense looked transformed with him in the lineup, suggesting bigger things to come once he fully settles.
Colts Break Opening-Day Curse
The Indianapolis Colts snapped their 11-game losing streak in week-one fixtures with a 33-8 rout of the Miami Dolphins.
Quarterback Daniel Jones, signed after being released by the Giants, led the way with 272 passing yards and three total touchdowns. The Colts scored on every possession, an achievement the NFL confirmed hasn’t happened in nearly half a century, making it a fitting tribute to late owner Jim Irsay, who passed away in May.
Rookie Standouts and Dramatic Finishes
The Cincinnati Bengals edged the Cleveland Browns 17-16, finally earning quarterback Joe Burrow a rare early-season win. Tampa Bay rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka delivered late heroics, grabbing a game-winning touchdown with seconds left as Atlanta missed a final field goal.
Other first-year stars impressed too: Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty scored in New England, Commanders rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt racked up 82 yards and a touchdown, while Jacksonville’s Travis Hunter played on both sides of the ball in his debut.
Matthew Stafford reached the 60,000-yard milestone as the Los Angeles Rams defeated Houston, and the 49ers overcame the Seahawks despite losing star tight end George Kittle to injury.
