Juric: Lookman Available for Juventus Match as Atalanta Close Transfer Chapter

Atalanta boss Ivan Juric has confirmed that Ademola Lookman will be in contention for Saturday’s Serie A showdown with Juventus as the forward continues his return to the squad following a turbulent summer, Sport360NG reports.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Juric said both Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere are available for selection in Turin.

“De Ketelaere will be with us tomorrow,” Juric noted. “He has been working well in training, and step by step we’ll bring him back to full condition.”

Lookman featured for the first time this season in last weekend’s win over Torino, coming off the bench in the closing stages. His involvement marked the end of a drawn-out transfer saga that saw him linked with Inter Milan before the move collapsed over valuation issues.

During the standoff, the Nigerian international criticised Atalanta’s hierarchy on social media and temporarily left for the UK to train alone. With no deal materialising, he returned to Bergamo just days before the season kicked off.

Juric later revealed that Lookman had addressed both him and the squad, admitting he had been poorly advised during the summer. “He spoke to me and the team on Monday. He was influenced by the wrong people,” Juric explained. “But his mentality is very strong, and now it’s about regaining match fitness.”

Reports in Italy suggest Atalanta have drawn a line under the saga and are determined to keep the 27-year-old for the entire campaign, ruling out a January exit.
