Nottingham Forest Weighing Emmanuel Dennis Exit Amid Squad Reshuffle

Nottingham Forest are reportedly exploring the possibility of parting ways with Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis as the club continues its summer squad overhaul, Sport360NG reports.

The 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Nuno Espírito Santo and was not involved in Forest’s pre-season preparations, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

“Emmanuel Dennis could leave before the window shuts,” Jacobs wrote on X on Tuesday, noting that a mutual contract termination is one of the options being considered.

Dennis is said to be on wages of around £40,000 per week, and offloading his salary is viewed as a priority for the Premier League side. Jacobs also revealed that clubs in Italy have expressed interest in the striker ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Super Eagles forward endured a frustrating loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in the second half of last season, managing just seven appearances without a goal. His stint was further marred by a red card against Norwich City in March.

Dennis, who joined Forest from Watford in 2022, struggled for regular game time last season, having been omitted from the squad for much of the first half of the campaign before making a belated return in the FA Cup against Wolves.

Forest, who will compete in the Europa League this term, have already trimmed their squad, with Lewis O’Brien sealing a move to Wrexham and New Zealand international Marko Stamenic switching to Swansea City.

With the transfer window drawing to a close, Dennis’ future at the City Ground is expected to be resolved in the coming days.
