Dele Alli departs Como after short spell in Serie A
Former England international Dele Alli has parted company with Italian side Como following the termination of his contract, Sport360NG reports.
The 29-year-old moved to the Serie A club in January on an 18-month deal but featured just once, coming off the bench against AC Milan before being dismissed only 10 minutes later for a late tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Manager Cesc Fabregas did not include Alli in his plans for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, leading both parties to agree a mutual exit.
“Dele is eager to find regular football and, with him not being part of our immediate project, we felt this was the right moment to part ways,” read a club statement. “We thank him for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”
Alli had previously been released by Everton in June 2024 and made his first professional appearance in over a year when he debuted for Como in March. Before that, his last outing came in February 2023 during a loan stint at Besiktas.
The midfielder, who rose to prominence at Tottenham Hotspur, was a key member of Gareth Southgate’s England squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
